Hon Johnson , who is representing the Akure South Local government under the platform of People’s Democratic Party-PDP , at the state House of Assembly, said the government of the PDP under the leadership of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 since inception of the democracy was still the best because the economy was okay at that period couple with that of Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2024. As the Country survived the world economic metdown at that period. He said if that economic metdown would have happened during President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015-2016 when Buhari was there, according to him ,this is not what we would have been saying.

He said the economic woes facing the country today was not the PDP that was responsible for it as being acclaimed by the present government. He said the increase in the clearing fees for the imported cars have increased during the past administration from N220k to N450k and since then it keeps increasing as the least one could clear a car now is around M2 millions according to him.
When asked about the way forward from the untold hardship experiencing by the citizens,? Hon Johnson Oguntodun has this to say” The way forward is to vote this people out of office. They have lied enough for you, okay what else do you want to hear that you have not seen . Vote them out and that is what they do in another countries…” .

He also talked about the plans and the process that was going on in the People’s Democratic Party-PDP for the selection of the candidate that would be the flag bearer of the party in the forth coming election in the state . He said he was confidence that his party would choose the right person for the party.

Speaking, further, the lawmakers condemned the use of money politics in inducing electorates during election as whatever money politicians spent for electorates during election they we like to recoup it back if the election favoured them . He said if people recap and rethink about the good performance of the PDP in the past ,he explained that he was confidence that PDP would regain this State back from APC. He explained that the present situation in the country is affecting everyone and believed that the battle is of the Lord as we would over come it. He said he had been given his people a good representation as he had addressed and still addressing some of the problems facing his constituencies like erosion problem.

According to him, he had facilitated Transformers for some community under his jurisdiction that are having problems with power and payment of JAMB fees for two hundred students that were registered for JAMB for 2024 as this would help some of the parents to cushion the effects of the Economic Hardship on them. He advised his people under his constituencies to bring the problems they are facing to him as he could not be every where so that he could take them to the appropriate quarters for possible solutions.

On the issue recruitment is going on in the health sector, the Hon said they would continue to be monitoring the situation. He advised those in charge to balance the recruitment process for everyone to benefit from it across the eighteen local government in the state . Hon . Oguntodun Olajide Johnson is the Minority Leader in Ondo State House of Assembly.
