ONDO Guber: APC Leaders And members from Akure North LG Declares Support For Oke.

APC Leaders and members from Akure North Local government area of Ondo State on Monday declared their unalloyed support for the ambition of Chief Olusola Alexander Oke to emerge as the candidate of the party in the primary scheduled for April, 2024. The pledge was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure, the state capital.

On hand at the event were politicians from across other political parties who said they were there to boost the chances of Oke, as they said they were willing to decamp to the APC soon, in order to realise their intention.

The party leaders who could not hide their loyalty said that Oke has been there for them during thick and thin, and that they cannot forsake him at this juncture for pecuniary gains.

One of the leaders from the ruling All Progressives  Congress APC in the area,  Hon Afe Olowookere, a former House of Reps member,  said time has come to hand over the party flag to a politician who knows the onion of politics.  In his words: “we cannot continue to be doing the wrong thing all the time. We need a politician who understands the terrain”

He also said further that the party, as it stands, has been polarised so much that members are now fighting each other, and one another, as the case may be, when all hands should be on deck for a common goal.

Also speaking, the former local government Chairman of the local government,  Hon Dele Fagoriola, emphasized that a thorough-bred and experienced person like Chief Alexander Olusola Oke is needed at the seat of power in the state, given his deep and rich experience, for better governance.

While responding, the leading aspirant, and the astute politician, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, appreciated everyone who came far and near to associate themselves with his aspiration of pushing poverty out of the state.

He talked further on the details of his mission and vision to make life more meaningful to the people, most especially during this hard time, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making frantic efforts to ameliorate things at the centre.

He stated: “I want to sincerely appreciate you all for taking your precious time to join the train of progress”. Continuing,
“I am in the race to bring the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ondo State, and reward party faithful through all inclusive model that was used in the regime of Dr. Olusegun Agagu.

Some of the wards and units leaders, who spoke, could not hide their identification with Oke  as they burst into different songs, with danceable melodies titillating both men and women present.

Chief Isaac Adeyeye, a former Ondo House Of Assembly member during Agagu regime, said the state needs people’s oriented politician like Oke, whose name has been a household name even among  little children

Chief Ologbojo, from Oba Ile, said, emphatically, that the time is now and the people will surely not regret if Olusola Oke is given the opportunity to fly the flag of the APC.
