PDP Primary: We Are Here To Take Over Power From The Ruling Party..D’Gov Bayelsa

All is now set for the People ‘s Democratic Party-PDP, Ondo State to elect the party flag bearer in preparation for the Governorship election slated for 16th November, 2024. To cement this, the Chairman of the election committee, .Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo. in an interview with Pressmen said he was in Ondo State to conduct the PDP Gubernatorial primaries for their party . He explained that PDP is fully ready to take over power from the Ruling Party -APC. The chairman explained that there were seven aspirants vying for the seat of the governor in the their party. Speaking, Lawrence said the activities was in line with the electoral act which stipulates that before elections could be conducted,a party must conduct a primary for the election of the candidate for the general election. He talked about the various forms of primaries which are direct, indirect , concessions and delegates of which their party had decided to go for indirect primary today to choose their candidate.
While speaking, he said 627 delegates are expected for today exercise to elect the candidate of their choice for the general election . In his words, The party is here to elect the candidate for the party who would contest the general election. The APC have been in power for the past eight years and PDP is ready to take over power from them now. We are going to conduct a free ,fair, credible and transparent primary today and rancour free election ”
He advised all the aspirants to abide by the rules of the game . He made reference to similar primary he conducted in Osun state for the party without any problems.According to him, he said all aspirants should conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during the whole exercise .He explained that he was here to conduct the primary and that his party is going to win and defeated the APC in the general election. Speaking in a proverbial language that the frog insist that the song last year is the same song this year that the rain would fall and the Farmers would have good harvest.
Recalled that seven aspirants are Jotling for the governorship position and the primary is being conducted here at the International Cultural and Events Centre Akure Ondo State -The Dome where every delegates and the observers were on ground to witness the conduct of the primary, as final accreditation is ongoing. Security men were on ground to perform their duties in order for peace and tranquility to be maintained.
