Ondo State Governor His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa and his Deputy Dr Olajide Adelami and other top government functionaries today celebrated this year national children’ s day at Arcade in Akure, the state capital,with a titled: Building a brighter future for children. The event was declared opened by the Governor himself with a speech of assurance of government promised of continuing supporting children’s education by way of providing them the necessary academic support that would ease their education for the purpose of realizing their future potentials.

The Governor said he was happy addressing the children and the entire good people of Ondo State at the grand finally of year 2024 edition of the national Children’s day celebration. He congratulated them and said the government would continue to be focusing on the issues affecting the children welfare and their health matters.

According to him , Aiyedatiwa said he was aware of the theme of this year celebration and that he was deeply convince that this year theme was carefully choosing having in mind that our children are nurtures as future leaders. He described them as the architect of tomorrow world. He said it therefore,our collective responsibility to provide the children the necessary tools they needed and other opportunities and support as well as guidance for them to flourish and succeed.

In another development, governor said it is imperative for the government to protect the children due to their brighter future irrespective of their backgrounds, location and religion affliction so that the dreams of the brighter future for them would not be an illusion.
Speaking further, governor said there should be concerted efforts in investing in our children education, health care , safety and conducive environment where their potentials can be achieved as there is no sacrifice that is too big to make for them .

According to him, Aiyedatiwa further explained that it’s being regards that government has set machinery in motion to recruit the larger numbers of teachers both in public primary and secondary schools across the state to cover the gap living in the teaching and learning processes as mandated retirement has created the demand for teachers in the teaching profession. He said the mass recruitment in the profession would go along way in securing the brighter future of our children .

Governor used the forum to intimate the children how his government has injected another shuttle Buses to cushion the effects of the transportation problems they are facing while saving their parents of daily money for the children’s transportation fare and ensure wider coverage for the students. He explained how his government had paid for the learners WAEC fees in all the public schools so that no students would have an excuse for not completing their educational programme based on lack of money.He also talked about the recruitment of the health workers due to the brain drain in the health sector for our Doctors who seek greener pasture .

While addressing Children, the governor said his government has flagged off the health HPP vaccine project for the children that would prevent them from contacting diseases. The vaccine was targeted for children between nine to sixteen years old . He said the efforts shows the kind of premium the government placed on our children to prevent them from incidents of cervical cancer among the female populace
