The Electoral Body of the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (AINPN) Ondo State Chapter chaired by Chief Charles Akinwon, the Publishers of Newslinage has cleared eligible candidates that will participate in the association’s election that is scheduled for July 4, 2024 at NUJ, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State capital.

The candidates present for the screening process, held at No. 86, Oyemekun Road, Akure, included Mr. Olaseni Oyesusi of The Chronicle Magazine, contesting for the position of President of the association; Mr. Collins Alimi Dupson of The Path Magazine, vying for the position of Secretary; and Mr. Ayodele Ologunola of The Focus Magazine, contesting for the position of Treasurer.

The committee members meticulously scrutinized the eligibility and capacity of the aspirants, found them worthy in all respects, and consequently approved their candidatures to contest in the election.

The Chairman of the Electoral Body, Mr. Charles Akinwon, promised all candidates a level playing field and urged them to abide by the election rules, which he assured would be free, fair, and transparent.

He called on all members to participate in the exercise, emphasizing the importance of expressing their franchise to determine the winners.

Additionally, he noted that all staff members from various organizations within the association should attend the inauguration, which he described as a historic event for the association.
