*ONDO 2024: ONDO BUDGET COMMISSIONER WELCOMES PDP DEFECTORS TO APC*
In a pivotal turn of events, prominent figures from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the ranks of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, bolstering Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s bid for re-election in the forthcoming November 2024 gubernatorial polls.
Led by Apostle Ogunje Abayomi of the OFOLAYE MANDATE GROUP, along with Mr. Atijosan Sunday from the Success Group, and Mr. Oladekoye Stephen and Ms. Ojasanmi Feyisara of the Campine group in Ode Omi, these defectors were instrumental in the PDP stronghold of Irele local government. They attributed their decision to defect to the exemplary leadership of the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning in Ondo State, Pastor(Dr) Emmanuel Igbasan. His transformative leadership has spurred extensive developmental projects in Irele, including the ICT Center at Comprehensive High School in Ode-Irele, the Odunwo Solar-Powered Borehole, and ongoing renovations at various schools like Arerin Grammar School.
Atijosan Sunday, in particular, commended Commissioner Igbasan’s leadership style, highlighting initiatives such as scholarships for indigenous students across Nigerian higher institutions and infrastructure development spanning from Zion Compound through Christ College’s School axis to the Apostolic Church’s Junction in Irele. He described Igbasan as a rare gem and a divine gift to Irele, pledging to mobilize support for him to secure Irele local government for the APC in the November 2024 election.
In conclusion, all defectors pledged to collaborate with other progressives in Irele local government and committed their support to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s re-election bid.
Upon receiving the defectors, Commissioner Igbasan expressed elation at their testimonies and promised to further facilitate developmental projects in Irele under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
