*ANA Ondo State Chapter: An Evening with Basorun Arogbofa*

The Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, Ondo State Chapter was hosted in its monthly meeting by Basorun Seinde Arogbofa, a revered literary guru and Life Patron of Ondo State ANA, at his residence in Akure over the weekend.

The ANA Chairman in Ondo State, Mr Sunday Afolayan, shortly after the meeting, led the members to meet with him at his nature like enclave where he intimated the veteran writers of the association’s plan to publish an anthology in his honour.

According to the Chairman, nothing could be too big to celebrate a man who has invested so much in humanity through his numerous literary adventurism and other human capital engagements.

During the interaction, Arogbofa, who expressed much delight about the proposed book, took members through a voyage of his literary activism.

While speaking, Arogbofa said he was proud to be a member of ANA and that he held the association very dear to his heart. He assured the association of his support always.

Going down the memory lane, he narrated how he got a free brand new Pegeot 505 after his first car had an accident that nearly claimed the lives of two of his children in 1986.

A major spectacle was when he showed us one of the igneous rocks that dotted his garden where he said he normally sat on to garner inspirations for his writings.

The voracious author, who entertained members with assorted fruits and snacks added that his writings have brought many rewards to him, the greatest of which he described as a legacy that transcends lifetime.

One of the most striking movements during the interaction was when he took members under a broad tree in his garden; laced with green vegetation, and requested a keg of fresh and undiluted palm wine to entertain the writers. There, he told members more beautiful stories while they gently sipped from their cups of wine which was actually sourced from one of the palm trees in his garden. Little wonder, Baba keeps looking fresher and younger daily.

His act of generousity once again became evident as he gave everyone a copy of one of his recent books: _To the Stars through Bows and Arrows_ .

Indeed, it was not just a memorable experience, but an exciting and very enjoyable moment.

The meeting had in attendance some of the key ANA members in Ondo State.
