New Naira Notes: Nigerians Experience Long Queue At ATM POINTS

Nigerians has been facing alot of challenge in an attempt to withdraw money from the Automated Teller Machine as they faced a long queue when trying to carry out their financial transaction in the bank . Speaking to our correspondence, a customer who does not want his name in print said that they are disappointed in the process as most of the machine are not dispensing as it ought to be . They said only few machine are working compared to the number of the customers on queue that want to withdraw money.

The operator of the point of sales,-POS are now exploring the situation to their own advantages as they are charging hundred naira (N100) per one thousand naira withdraw as against fifty naira. They complained that the new naira notes was not available. Customers now pay as high as one thousand naira per ten thousand as against one or two hundred naira before. They said the unavailable new naira notes have caused set back to the high level of their customers patronage.

Although, few ATM are dispensing new currency but there are long queue in factually all the commercial banks visited in the Akure metropolis. As the people are experiencing hardship while making transaction. Also, the problem of scarcity of PMS, also know as petrol is causing economic hardship among the people. The challenge has caused inflation as price of goods and services had shoot up . Students find it difficult to get to their schools on time as most of them have to treck a long distance before they could get to their schools due to the increament in the transport fare .
However, the cost of the transportation from Shop Rite to the school of Health Technology is now two hundred naira as against fifty naira while Arakale market is now seven hundred (N700) naira as against ( N200) from the same distance. According to them, the situation was too outrageous as the suffering is too much for them to cope with. Many people have to sleep in the filling stations for days before they could get the commodity while some just packed their vehicles there and left it since they can not get the fuel. Some buy from the black market as higher as one thousand Naira (N1000) per litre . While the filling stations are selling four fifty (N450) naira to five hundred to their customers in a country that is blessed with natural resources.
In another development, the little resource of the average Nigeria workers remain stagnant as Government is not ready to consider any increament for now and they want the civil servants to be coming to the office to perform their daily duties .
To the Labour Union, is like their tooth is no longer in their mouth any more to bite . Gone are the days when NLC used to be vibrant under the leadership of comrade Adams Oshiomhole , by now you would have been seeing a lot of unionism hand writing written on the wall. It’s is a pity that the mighty one are fallen and it seems no one is ready to rescue the situation and the pains continue. Alas!
When in actual fact, that they are the one that put the whole Nigerians in this mess as they refused to let all the refineries works due to the high level of corruption in the petroleum sectors. As the situation is going now, if care is not taken, God forbid, the whole thing can stylishly encroach to the election period if some thing drastic is not done about it.
