A student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, has been stabbed to death by suspected cultists over argument on N1000.

The incident reportedly happened off campus has created apprehension in the university community.

It was gathered that the house of the suspect who stabbed the student to death, has been reportedly set ablaze by the irate students.

Details of the incident is still sketchy.

Sources said the students fingered some indigenes of the community for being responsible for the killing.

The killing sparked off protest in the community as some students of the institution took to the streets to vent their anger.

It took the intervention of the police and school authorities to avert the crisis from snowballing into a full blown one.

Spokesperson person of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya, confirmed the incident but said she was yet to get full details.

She said the students was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.
