As Nigeria Union of Journalists begins their 2023 Press Week Celebration with thanks giving at the New Covenant Church in Akure today, Justice Akeredolu Rtd spoke a few words of admonishment on some tips on Journalism to encouraged the Pen Pusher.

She took her words of encouragement from the book of proverbs. 28v4.
She said ethical value of journalism included five core values among which are accuracy, independent, impartiality, humanity and accountability. She advised all journalists to always be on top of their jobs whenever they are doing their work.
She said we should not be afraid of the powerful people in the society because the Creature could not be more than their Creator. She admonished them to shown corruption why doing their jobs. Justice Akeredolu prayed for protection for all Journalists in the cost of her admonishment as they continued doing their jobs.
In another development, she asked God to continued providing for their needs as the jobs required some financial commitment in the cost of providing useful information to the public.
She said Journalists should ensured that their reports are accurate and objectives while reporting on any issues that related to  both individual and the general public. According to her, journalists are the one that bring light to any darkness via their reportage. Therefore, she advised them to be impartial and ensured that they held government and individual accountable in their duties.

Rev. Rotimi Fagboyegun also prayed for the Journalists while they are giving their thanks giving and he prayed that none of them would died in the cost of their duties and also prayed for the multiplication of the members of the profession. He said the Journalists are the light of the world that would illuminate the society as things are so bad.

He said Journalists are the voices of the masses so, for this,  it’s important for them to carry out their duties diligently and they must not be silence why they are doing their jobs. He said  they need to talk and not be are shamed of speaking the truth.
