CELEBRATION AND GENEROSITY IN IRELE AND IKALE EAST: Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan Empowers and Unites.
In a spectacle of vibrant celebration on Monday, December 2nd, 2023, the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in Ondo State, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, played host to the newly appointed Local Government Executives in Irele and Ikale East LCDA. The event, held at Pastor Igbasan’s residence, commenced with a commendation-filled opening speech from the party chairman, Chief Z.A Omoge, praising the Commissioner for his industrious spirit and generosity towards his constituents. The newly appointed caretaker Chairmen of Irele Local Government and Ikale East LCDA, Hon. Ali Olaniran and Hon. Jide Akinfe, and the immediate Deputy Chairman of Irele Local Government echoed these sentiments, particularly highlighting the Commissioner’s commitment to supporting students, especially those less privileged.
Elder Dele Awe, the master of ceremony, took a moment to reflect on Commissioner Igbasan’s notable achievements over the years, spanning from the 2012 quiz competition to empowering law and medical students in 2021. The Commissioner’s speech, met with a standing ovation, revealed the motivation behind gifting six buses, each costing over 3 million naira, to beneficiaries without any cost. His empathy stemmed from a personal experience where an okada rider’s accident deeply affected him.
The Commissioner’s generosity extended to various sectors, with a focus on education, infrastructure, and support for the physically disabled. Numerous projects, such as roads, ICT centers, and boreholes, were highlighted, showcasing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s impact on Irele Local Government. Testimonials from villagers attested to the positive changes brought about by Commissioner Igbasan, reinforcing his commitment to community development.
Notably, the event saw a mass defection of party faithfuls, led by Hon. Victor Akinfe, citing Commissioner Igbasan’s exemplary work as the catalyst.
