The Forum of Heads of the Federal Government Establishments and Institutions in Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter, Pastor Adejuwon, E.O, who is the head of Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Akure has thanked the members of the Forum that graced this year annual lecture, get together and fund raising for Forum Rentals .The Chairman used the occasion to made some request from the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu-SAN CON,ably represented by the Ondo State Head of Civil servants, Pastor Kayode Ogundele to provide them with transportation that would be carriing their workers particularly from the shop Rite Junction to the Federal Secretariat to and fro . This year events topic : Rising Cost of living : A challenge to Nigerian Workers, held at Déjà Vu Hotel and Suites , Alagbaka, Akure.

The chairman of the Forum Heads said Transportation problem for workers at the Federal Secretariat had been a major challenges to their workers and however appealed to the state government to provided them Bus that would eased the problems in this regards. Other requests are a very good and close relationship between this FORUM and the state Government. He said that they need to be recognized as part of stakeholders in the state . Also, the Chairman said ” the project for the FORUM was the thing that brought the idea of our fund raising for the FORUM Rental Services as an internal General Revenue (IGR) for the forum and also job creation for people that will work there”

The chairman appreciated the grant patron of the association -Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo (Rtd) and the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu-SAN , Patroness (Grandma) the first female Headand of Service in Ondo State- Chief (Mrs) Stella kolawole kosemani, Mini, JP, NPOM other members of the Forum that made the occasion a success.

Mr Governor’s RESPONSE

In his response, Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu-SAN CON, ably represented by the Head of Civil service Ondo State, pastor Kayode Ogundele said all what the Chairman of the Forum of Heads of Federal Government Establishments and Institutions need to do was to write them for whatever assistance they want the government to do for them and it would be considered. The Governor said they had been assisting some of the Federal government agencies in the state like the JAMB, UBEC and others. He said Ondo State government was not relented in her efforts to provide capacity building for all her workers. He also said the government had been able to paid the promotion arrears owned to her workers.
Speaking, further, Mr Governor also said the Institute of Public Services Training Institute (PSTI)in Ilara Mokin is the best in Nigeria due to the development the institutions had brought in enhancing the governance in the state through its capacity building. He said Ondo State government did not used the Palliative money to paid the workers arrears. He also said the government had mobilized resources for free transportation for all workers in the state to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

In another development, Mr Governor also said the state is planning to purchased a five (5) brand new Buses that would be CNG compliance that would support the workers in time of transportation to the work place and beyond. He also said there can not be any good governance if the instrumentality of good governance is not put in place.
Mr Governor also, used the forum to called on the Federal Government Establishments and Institutions to conveyed the state government message to the Federal government to help them fixed the bad federal government road in the state to reduced the rate of kidnapping within the state.
The guest speaker also said the leadership challenges in Africa are lack of power devolution and lack of data demographics. He said the economy of Nigeria was facing a lot problems now as everything had rising beyond human capacity. He advised people to go for their needs not what they want. He advised people to cut cost as the economy was not pocket friendly. He said civil servants should concentrated more on their basic needs like food, Shelters, clothing(Not those expensive materials) and other important items that are more important to us. He said by 2024 he believes that the economy would be big and better.

He said it’s no more news that the Petroleum price had increased, he said idleness was one of the reasons while criminality rise, he said we should keep our children busy all the time. He said the era at which people are afraid that their name could be mentioned if gave out information to the security agency had stopped now, as the men of the Amotekun with other security agencies in the state had taken charge of the security of the state now. He also advised people to be security conscious as the Christmas is fasting approaching . He said people should be more sensitive to their environment and also be their neighbors keeper. He said his men are determined to make this year Christmas a crime free celebration for all and he pleaded for the collaboration of the people in the society to also help them supply some useful information about the suspected criminals within the society.
