Pastor Asonja Festus, a newly sworn in permanent Secretary in Ondo State has thanked God for being among the chosen one from the multitudes. According to him, Asonja said he received uncommon favour from God and man , particularly, from the Governor of Ondo state. His words ” I want to appreciate God Almighty because I received uncommon grace. And I want to really thank Mr Governor ,Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. At a point when there was no hope ,he raised my hope and he assured. I was at the verge of leaving the service when he said that I will make you a permanent Secretary and he made it…”

Recalled that HE Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa sworn in sixteen (16) permanent secretaries at the cocoa conference Hall in the state House yesterday being 13th March, 2024 for the purpose of easy the works of the governance in order to foster progress in the administrative works of the government.

Similarly, Pastor Asonja said he had transversed the lengths and the breaths of the Ondo State civil service and also the public service as he had worked for many years in the SUBEB , OSOPADEC , Word Bank, economic planning and Budget and so on . He is currently permanent Secretary in the government House and Protocol.

In another development, Asonja explained he was able to gathered all these necessary experience and use it to re-positioning himself for higher level of performance. He said it had really been wholesome and wonderful and therefore, appreciated all the people that have contributed and be a part of his celebration today.

He Admonished the young people that are looking up to him to be determined, focused and get a mentor in service and also go extra mind to study beyond the civil service.

According to him, the certificate that took him to the world Bank was gotten from the University of Ibadan as he went there for a brief course as he studied monitoring and evaluation for six months in the University. He Admonished them to go extra mile and be determined in life if actually they want to succeed.

He gave a warning that a civil servants should not just minute on a file if it comes to their own table. He advised them to take their time to go back to the beginning and learn on the knowledge and contributions of their ex while either Director or whatever, they would help you. He said civil servants should never do things in a haste as the civil service is not meant for the rich. According to him when you know your onion they would called you for a higher place and that is the basic truth. He said.

Asonja, however used the opportunity of his thanksgiving party to appreciate all that had graced the occasion. He thanked the HE Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for honouring his words upon him . He equally thanked all retired permanent secretaries, his departments, Head of Service, friends, neighbours and loved ones for supporting him .
