The process for selecting candidates for the People’s Democratic Party-PDP  is ongoing now. Delegates we’re voting according to their local government as they were being called by the Chairman of the election committee( Lawrence) to approach for their voting.
The accredited delegates according to each local government are recorded below

1. Akoko North East– 39 delegates
2. Akoko North west-31
3. Akoko South East – 34
4. Akoko South West- 43
5. Akure North 37
6. Akure South – 34
7. Ese odo-31
8. Ilaje Local – 37
9. Idanre-31
10. Ifedore- 31
11. Ile oluji-30
12. Irele-31
13. Odigbo 34
14 Okitipupa -39
15 Ondo East -31
16. Ondo west-37
17. Ose -37
18. Owo- 34.
The process was going on smoothly and faster as the delegates followed the rules of the game accordingly and they were orderly in the process.
Counting of voting is going on now. At the end of the voting , each aspirants recorded the following votes.
1. Mafo Ola John-9 votes
2. Akinjo Kolade- 157 votes
3. Ajayi- Agboola-264 Votes
4. Ebiseni Olusola- 99 votes
5 Akingboye Benson Arinse-24
6 Akinwumi Adeolu– 64 votes
7. Bosun Arebuwa-2 votes

At the end of the exercises Agboola Ajayi came first by pulling 264 votes to defeated his closest rival Hon. Kolade Akinjo who pulled 157 votes while Ebiseni Olusola scored 99 votes. At the end of the whole exercise, Agboola Ajayi was declared winner of the primary exercise to cliched the party’s ticket for the forth coming general election in Ondo State. Ajayi Agboola who contested against Former governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu-SAN CON (of Blessed Memory) on the platform of Zenith labour party in the year 2020 but lost will now fight it to the last with the current Executive Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa on the 16th November 2024.
Agboola who hailed from Ese- Odo local government while Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa came from Obe Nla in Ilaje local Government. Both of them are from the same Senatorial district .
