A gubernatorial aspirant who contested the April 20 governorship primaries under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Olugbenga Edema, has hailed the appointment of the Chairman of the party in the state, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, in Osun State.

Edema, who described the appointment as perfect, stated that the recognition of Adetimehin by President Bola Tinubu signifies the testament to the chairman’s outstanding leadership qualities.

In a statement issued to newsmen at the weekend, the former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) stated that “I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to Engineer Ade Adetimehin on his appointment as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede.

“This well-deserved recognition is a reflection of his exemplary track record and dedication to excellence.”

Also, Edema lauded the appointments of Hon. Adegboyega Adedipe as Board Chairman, Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa State, Hon. Omomwumi Owovoriole, Board Chairman, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Chief Alex Ajipe, Member Governing Council, University of Ibadan, and Mrs Seun Osamaye, Member governing board, Federal College of Education, Okenne, Kogi State.

Edema, who served as the Ondo State representative on the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), also commended the President for the selection of Engineer Adetimehin for his pivotal role in the polytechnic.

The former legislator and legal practitioner, while emphasising the importance of placing competent and capable individuals in positions of leadership, stated, “I commend President Bola Tinubu for his astute decision in appointing Engineer Ade Adetimehin to lead the Governing Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede.

“It is crucial to have visionary and competent leaders at the helm of our educational institutions, and I believe Engineer Ade Adetimehin is well-suited for this role.”

Edema, who underscored the significance of recognising competence in public appointments, emphasised the need to recognise and reward individuals based on their capabilities and contributions to society.

“Engineer Ade Adetimehin’s appointment serves as a shining example of the importance of meritocracy in our society.

“We must continue to prioritise competence and integrity in our appointments to ensure the continued growth and development of our institutions.”
