The foremost gubernatorial aspirants in recently concluded Party Primaries in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Nehemiah Ebiseni popularly called ONE has promised the good people of the State particularly his supporters that his name will be on the ballot come November 16th Governorship election.
The renowned politician revealed this during a thank you get-together for the party leaders, members, and supporters across the state at his resident in Alagbaka, Akure yesterday the 12th day of June, 2024
According to Ebiseni, politics is an act of the possible and is not something you do half-heartedly. The goal of politics is power, and the goal of power is the development of the community and the people. I am not done with politics, and i will not be done with politics.
Speaking further on his political trajectory, Chief Ebiseni who started his political career at local government in 1991, I was the chairman of June 12, cordinator For Chief Olu Falaei For President and a Contributor to Chief Moshood Abisola “Farewell To Poverty Program said he is not angry with anybody for the role they might have against his leading to his defeat in the Governorship Primaries of People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
As a politician, I have a right to vote and be voted, but I have no right to the obligation of anyone to vote for me, because of this, I appreciate all that voted for me and those that did not vote for me are not my enemies, I therefore plead with all my supporters not to make an enemy with anyone that choose not to vote for me because what brings most of us together is more than politics.
He added that, having contested in 2016 and 2019, and i asked myself, why contesting again. He discovered that the answer was in his passion to make a remarkable sociopolitical difference in the life of good people of the state itself.
Speaking further on his preparation for the project, Ebiseni Olusola said in all ramifications that no aspirant has shown capacity like his Campaign Team did in the built-up to the last primaries. “We gave meaning to PDP, but that was not my motivation,
” When you look at the history of Ondo State, it is a State of Giants. We have been tutored politically by giants. Right from when I left university, we have been sitting at the feet of the late sage Pa Adekunle Ajasin to learn from them politics and history. Coordinated for Chief Olu Falae in 1991, member of Chief Adebayo Adefarati cabinet, and i know the quality of the governor he was ditto Governor Olusegun Agagu, Olusegun Mimiko and Akeredolu
He described Dr Agagu as a first class academia and intellectual giant who other Governors listen to when he speaks. To him Dr Olusegun Mimiko is an activist and a philanthropist, and Akeredolu a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, former NBA president, a kegite of the highest order.
According to the political juggernaut, when he leads, these are top flight politicians and governors. It pleases nature to bestowed on this state. As citizens of this state, I’m sure many of us are very proud that these were our former governors.
Ebiseni opined that, it was against this backdrop and he said to himself, these are the ones worthy to emulates . These are the kind of quality Governor i want to give to the good people of ondo state.They deserve the better
In this connection, we deliberately raised the bar of campaigns in the internal election to give the people a quality and viable option to the party in power, we toured the nooks and crannies of our dear state with messages of hope based on unambiguously articulated programmes and demonstrated unmatched knowledge of the state, its territory, people and geopolitical configuration for fair, just and inclusive governance. I said yes, this is the period of redemption not for PDP alone but for politics in ondo state.
We gave it everything, but when the results came, I was surprised but not disappointed, I was not betrayed by anyone because betrayer is part of politics, but unlike Caesar, I have no reason to say “etu brute”
In terms of quality men to lead our state from Ajasin , Adefarati, Agagu, mimiko, and Aketi, this state will not suffer diminishing returns in terms of leadership.We had no reason to doubt that our messages resonated with the good people of Ondo State, and our hands have been put on plough there is no looking back.
