The Commissioner for information and Orientation Ondo State , Mr Wale Akinlosotu has urged the online Media Professionals-OMP in the state to portray the state in a positive ways as the state belong to all of us. Speaking during the interactive section with the Journalists in his office in Akure, the commissioner appealed to the online Media Professionals to always blow the trumpet of the good performance of the state government to the world. While speaking, Akinlosotu said government had issues out Agricultural seed input to most of the Farmers in the state in order for them to continue farming during this rainy season so that there would be enough food security for the good people of the state.

Similarly, he said that he had that some tractors are coming on the ways for Farmers to started their mechanized farming. He clarified that the Governor bailed out the workers in the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic by way of giving them subvention to cleared salaries areas not that they are part of the main streaming of the civil servants in the state . He explained that government is not owning other civil servants any salary areas at all.

Akinlosotu who acknowledged that the online Digital Media had come to stay in this modern day technological era wether we like it or not . However recognizes the fact that the way online Media have revolutionized the media industry for the past five years was marvelous as it has created positive impact in the life of the people in the society by keeping the people on their toes. .

According to him, the Digital Media could also have its own bad side due to the fact that disinformation and misinformation that emerged from some of the online platform could put the whole State and county on fire or cause chaos if genuine information is not disseminated to the public. To him he considered this as a bad side of the online Media functions if it’s not well managed. He went further by sighting  example of how social media and other online blogs was used to mobilized Youths during the #End SAR protest that caused a lot of damages of which some people lost their life’s during the protest was a testament to how powerful online Media was as it can be of good or bad depending on how one uses it.
Akinlosotu Admonished the online media professionals to used their platforms to promote the state in a positive ways to the general public especially during this election period that is coming on the November 16th 2024. He was of opinion that the current government under the leadership of the Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa  is doing well as he had recoded some achievements during the short periods of six months in government. He appreciated the paradigm shift in the welfare of the workers as the governor had improved the way and manner the civil Servants use to get their wages now. He explained while the government stoped the palliative wages award thirty five thousand naira to the workers because the Federal government said it should be for six months of which the state government complied with.

Similarly, the commissioner used the forum to explained to the Pressmen the three thousand workers comprises of one thousand people injected into the health sector, two thousand people into the teaching profession  both at the secondary and primary school level. He said the main reason the meeting was called was that he wants to be a friend to the Journalists for the promotion of the good work done by their administration and likewise he wants the Pressmen to be his friends because of the success of his Ministry and the state as a whole.

His words ” … I want to be your friend . I want to be your friend , that I want you to be my friend. Please be my friend at the success of our ministry number one, and the success of our state number two depends on the writers like you as writers are the bed rock of any society in any part of the world,”

He requested the Journalists to help portray the state in a positive light and  promised to be very accessible to everyone as there may be need for any journalists to request for any clarification of any information from his office before writing their full story for publication.
