
Edwin Clark, Renowned Elder Statesman, Passes Away at 97
Edwin Clark, a distinguished former Federal Commissioner for Information and a key figure in South-South politics, has died at the age of 97.
In a statement released by the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, it was confirmed that Clark passed away on the night of February 17, 2025. The family, led by Prof. C.C. Clark, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support and prayers during this difficult time.
The statement reads: “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, announces the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, February 17, 2025. We are grateful for your prayers, and more details will be provided by the family.”
Clark’s death follows closely on the heels of the passing of Afenifere leader Ayo Adebanjo, who died at the age of 96.
