In a bid to combat rising crime rates in Ondo State, Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, has extended his Community Safety Partnership Initiative to the Akoko region. Speaking at a meeting attended by community members from both Ikare and Iwaro Area Commands, CP Afolabi urged residents to collaborate closely with the police in ensuring the safety and security of their communities.

The initiative, designed to foster mutual trust between the police and citizens, aims to improve overall security and encourage proactive measures against criminal activities. CP Afolabi emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging residents to report suspicious individuals and conduct background checks, especially in rural and farm areas, to prevent the infiltration of criminal elements.

During the session, he also addressed local issues such as land disputes and ethnic tensions, calling for peaceful dialogue to ensure sustained development. In response, the community expressed their appreciation for the CP’s commitment and pledged to support police efforts in maintaining peace and order.

CP Afolabi reassured the public of the police’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property and reaffirmed efforts to curb kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.
