NATIONAL POLICE DAY: CP WILFRED AFOLABI PSC+, MNIPS, MEETS STAKEHOLDERS ON COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP
In commemoration of National Police Day, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, psc+, mnips, convened a high-level Stakeholders’ Meeting focused on strengthening the Community Safety Partnership framework.
Speaking at the event, CP Afolabi emphasized the importance of collaborative policing, stating that “a safer society is a collective responsibility that requires joint efforts between the Police and the communities they serve.” He highlighted the critical role of trust, proactive engagement, and information sharing in preventing crime and ensuring public safety across the state.
The meeting brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, representatives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Miyetti Allah, farmers, hunters, and members of the Hausa community. The Commissioner was widely commended for his sustained engagement and open-door policy, which have contributed significantly to the security architecture of the state.
Participants shared security concerns specific to their communities, offered practical suggestions, and asked relevant questions regarding ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration with the Police in tackling crime and protecting lives and property.
