Easter: NSCDC Ondo State Command Deploys Personnel, Assures Residents of Safe Celebrations

Akure, April 17, 2025

In anticipation of the Easter festivities, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has initiated a state-wide deployment of personnel to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the state.

The State Commandant, CC Oluyemi Ibiloye, cpo, mspsp, fwip, gave the directive on Thursday, mandating all Area Commanders to enforce adequate security measures within their respective areas, with special attention to worship centres and other key locations to prevent any form of security breach.

According to the official statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the NSCDC will also focus on the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure during the celebration.

To bolster security coverage, the Command has activated several specialized units, including the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Rapid Response Squad, Commandant Tactical Team, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit, the Agro Rangers, and the Intelligence and Surveillance Team.

The Commandant extended warm greetings to the Christian community, congratulating them on the successful completion of the Lenten season and the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He urged residents to reflect on the values of peace, sacrifice, and unity that Easter represents.

In addition to the security measures in place, Commandant Ibiloye advised members of the public to remain vigilant and prioritize their personal safety. Parents and guardians were specifically cautioned to monitor their children and wards closely throughout the holiday period.

“Security is a collective responsibility,” the Commandant emphasized. “We call on all residents to report any suspicious movement or activities in their communities to the nearest security agency for prompt intervention.”
