Ondo Police Launch Statewide Security Operation for Easter, Deploy Tactical Teams to Ensure Safe Celebrations

As part of efforts to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free Easter celebration, the Ondo State Police Command has announced the strategic deployment of personnel and security assets across the state.
In a press release issued from the Command Headquarters in Akure, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, stated that the deployment will cover critical areas including worship centres, event venues, recreational spots, major highways, and other public spaces throughout the festive period.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State, has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical Units to enhance patrols, visibility policing, and surveillance activities in their respective jurisdictions. According to the release, these efforts are aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring swift response to any threats.
“The deployment comprises tactical teams, conventional police personnel, and intelligence officers, all positioned to ensure maximum security during the Easter festivities,” the statement said.
The Command also appealed to residents to support the police by remaining law-abiding, celebrating responsibly, and cooperating with law enforcement agencies. Citizens are encouraged to promptly report any suspicious movement or individuals to the nearest police station or through the emergency contact numbers provided.
“The Ondo State Police Command assures all residents of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, not only during Easter but at all times,” DSP Ayanlade added.
