NSCDC Ondo Secures 5-Year Jail Term in Criminal Conversion Case

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has successfully secured a five-year jail term against a former sales representative, Temitope Odeyemi, for criminal conversion of goods worth over ₦5.6 million.
The conviction was delivered on May 9, 2025, by the Magistrate Court of Ondo State, Akure Magisterial District, with His Worship D.S. Sekoni presiding. Odeyemi was arraigned on a one-count charge of criminally converting funds totaling ₦5,652,360.00, which belonged to CEC Global Venture, his former employer.
The charge, brought under Section 383 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 37, Vol 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006, was proved beyond reasonable doubt, leading to Odeyemi’s conviction. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment without the option of a fine.
In a move towards restorative justice, the court further ordered the convict to refund the total sum of ₦5,652,360.00 to the nominal complainant.
