
Ondo Govt, Czech Republic Forge Partnership for Sustainable Development

In a move to attract international investment and accelerate economic growth, the Ondo State Government is set to deepen bilateral cooperation with the Czech Republic in key sectors including agriculture, renewable energy, and industrial technology.
This development followed a high-level meeting on Monday between Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Krejci Zdenek, at the Governor’s Office in Akure.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his administration’s commitment to creating a stable and business-friendly environment, emphasizing that Ondo State remains open to foreign partnerships that can unlock its vast economic potential.
“We are providing a legal and economic framework that supports investment,” the Governor said. “Our arms are open to embrace investors from within and outside Nigeria. We will continue to do everything necessary to grow our economy for the benefit of our people.”
He welcomed the Czech delegation’s interest and affirmed the state’s readiness to collaborate with the European nation across various sectors.
Ambassador Zdenek, in his remarks, described the Czech Republic as a country with a longstanding industrial heritage and expertise in agriculture, machinery, and sustainable technologies. He highlighted Ondo State’s natural resources and governance framework as key attractions for Czech investors.
“We believe a strategic alliance with Ondo State will yield mutual benefits and meaningfully support your developmental goals,” the Ambassador stated.
Also speaking, Mr. Adewale Adekunbi, a member of the Czech delegation, underscored that the partnership is designed not just to boost economic activity, but also to tackle poverty and unemployment through advanced technological solutions and knowledge exchange.
Present at the meeting were Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff Prince Segun Omojuwa, Special Adviser on Power Engr. Johnson Alabi, Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture and Agribusiness Mr. Wemimo Akinsola, ONDIPA Administrative Secretary Barr. Emmanuel Omomowo, and Business Manager Mr. Femi Akarakiri.
