Aiyedatiwa Charges OSOPADEC Chairman to Deliver Visible Impact in Oil-Producing Areas

By Exponent News Akure 13th July, 2025

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has urged the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, to focus on impactful service delivery that directly uplifts the lives of people in the state’s oil-producing communities.

The Governor gave the charge on Saturday, July 12, 2025, while speaking at a reception organized by friends in honour of the newly appointed OSOPADEC Chairman. He emphasized the need for the commission’s projects and programmes to be felt tangibly across all sectors in the mandate areas.

Describing Prince Poroye as a man of intellect, capacity, and resilience, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in his ability to lead the commission effectively. He called on other board members to work in synergy with the chairman to bring about meaningful development.

“I know what Prince Poroye is capable of, and I trust he will make a difference. OSOPADEC must be a channel of transformation in the oil-producing areas,” the governor said.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion and Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, praised the governor for his leadership and for appointing a competent individual to head the commission. He described Poroye as a transparent and capable leader who would not disappoint.

Similarly, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, expressed optimism that Poroye’s leadership would bring about positive change, noting his experience and vision for the mandate areas.

In his response, Prince Biyi Poroye appreciated the honour done to him and assured the guests that he would not betray the trust placed in him. He pledged to work tirelessly to improve the welfare of the people in the oil-producing communities.

The event was attended by prominent personalities including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Hon. Abiola Makinde of the House of Representatives; Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu; political appointees and other dignitaries.
