Aiyedatiwa Leads Southwest Rally for Tinubu, Oyebanji’s Second Term

By Exponent News, Akure | July 28, 2025

In a strong show of regional political solidarity, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Monday declared unwavering support for the second-term ambitions of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.

Addressing a crowd of party faithful at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the rally as a renewed commitment by the Southwest to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of crucial elections.

Aiyedatiwa hailed Governor Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO, as a “visionary and development-driven leader” whose achievements across sectors justify the call for another term. He called on Ekiti voters to re-elect Oyebanji, saying the governor’s track record speaks volumes.

“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The Ondo State governor also used the occasion to reaffirm the collective endorsement of President Tinubu by the 23 APC-controlled states, describing the president’s Renewed Hope agenda as a national project that must continue beyond 2027.

Drawing parallels between the recent APC landslide in Ondo and the upcoming Ekiti election, Aiyedatiwa urged stakeholders to replicate similar results across the 16 local government areas in Ekiti State.

In his remarks, Governor Biodun Oyebanji thanked the party hierarchy for their support and described the event as a unifying moment for APC in the state. He emphasized the importance of voter registration and assured citizens of a seamless process with government collaboration.

Other top Ondo political figures present at the event included former Senator Tayo Alasoadura; Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Director of Corporate Affairs, NDDC; Mrs. Seun Osamaye, Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development; and Mr. Smart Omodumbi, SSA to the Governor on Political Matters.

The event marked a major milestone in the political buildup toward the Ekiti 2026 governorship election and the 2027 general elections.
