The incident, which occurred two weeks prior, only came to light on 27th July 2025 after the victim succumbed to his injuries at a Private Hospital. Reports indicate that during an altercation, Augustina allegedly stabbed Michael in the chest with a pair of scissors, leading to fatal complications.

Following the delayed report of the murder, police operatives swiftly intervened to prevent mob action, relocating the suspect to the Irele Divisional Police Headquarters for her safety.

Authorities confirmed that Augustina has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Akure for a thorough homicide investigation as preparations are underway for her arraignment.

The Police have urged the public to remain calm, assuring that justice will be served.
