Okitipupa Youths Nab Robbery Suspect After Armed Phone Snatching at Hotel

Residents of Okitipupa, Ondo State, showcased commendable vigilance as community youths apprehended a robbery suspect, Samuel Akingbeinje, aged 23, following a daring phone snatching incident.
The suspect was caught on 25th July 2025 at a Hotel, in Okitipupa, after allegedly robbing a victim of an iPhone 12 Pro Max at axe-point. The swift intervention by local youths prevented his escape, leading to his immediate arrest before he could flee the area.
During preliminary interrogation, Akingbeinje confessed to handing over the stolen phone to an accomplice identified as “Toga” of Mayowa Quarters . Law enforcement agencies have since launched a manhunt to apprehend the accomplice and dismantle the criminal network.
Police authorities have commended the community’s proactive efforts and assured that the suspect will face prosecution as investigations continue.
