Panic gripped Ayede Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Thursday night when suspected kidnappers killed a 34-year-old man and abducted a woman in a violent attack.

The assailants, numbering about 10 and operating in two unregistered vehicles, shot dead Mr. Okudili Okoro before whisking away Mrs. Orogun to an unknown destination.

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. The hoodlums fled in an unregistered silver EOD car towards Akure and a grey Toyota Camry heading towards Owo.

Earlier today, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, visited the scene, ordering tactical commanders to ensure the victim’s safe rescue and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The police urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and provide any useful information to aid the investigation.
