OSOPADEC Engages Banks to Strengthen Financial Discipline and Drive Development

By Exponent News Akure, 18th September 2025

In a bid to boost financial integrity and foster stronger partnerships, the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, convened a crucial meeting with top banking officials at the Commission’s headquarters in Oba-Ile, Akure on Tuesday.

The session focused on reinforcing OSOPADEC’s commitment to financial discipline while accelerating development interventions in oil-producing communities. It also provided an avenue for exploring new collaborative opportunities aimed at enhancing the agency’s financial and economic impact.

Prince Poroye welcomed the banking delegation by emphasizing the importance of close cooperation between OSOPADEC and financial institutions aligned with the Commission’s vision of sustainable growth. He stressed the necessity for banks to maintain meticulous records of all transactions with intervention agencies to promote transparency and accountability.

“Partnerships between OSOPADEC and banks represent a pivotal step towards securing the funding necessary for our developmental projects,” Poroye said. “But alongside these partnerships, there must be unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability to avoid any legal complications. Our objective is to build frameworks that protect public trust and ensure the effective management of funds.”
