Speaking during the inauguration of the newly appointed Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) board members at the Cocoa Conference Centre in Akure, the Governor described education as the “most critical pillar of human development,” stressing that current efforts are already yielding measurable results.
“Our administration has made significant progress in the education sector. Governor Aiyedatiwa charged the new TESCOM board members to uphold integrity, fairness, and innovation in discharging their duties, emphasizing that the commission plays a central role in shaping the future of public education in the state.
“TESCOM is not just another government board; it is the heart of our public education system,” the governor stated. “Its decisions shape the welfare, discipline and professional growth of our teachers, who in turn shape the minds of our future leaders.”
He further urged the board to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to implement reforms, facilitate continuous teacher training, and ensure accountability across the system.
