CP Lawal Deploys Newly Passed-Out Constables Across Ondo LGAs

Akure, Ondo State — October 23rd, 2025:

In a bid to strengthen grassroots policing and enhance community safety, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Williams Lawal, has deployed newly passed-out police constables across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

Addressing the officers at the Command Headquarters in Akure, CP Lawal congratulated them on the successful completion of their basic police training, describing it as the beginning of a lifelong journey of service, discipline, and commitment to the Nigeria Police Force.

He reminded the constables that their new status comes with high expectations, urging them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights in all dealings with the public.

“Policing is a discipline-driven profession that demands absolute commitment and honesty. You must conduct yourselves with dignity both on and off duty because you now represent the image of the Force,” CP Lawal said.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his leadership in manpower development and capacity building, which facilitated the deployment of the new officers.

He also warned against corruption, extortion, and misuse of social media, citing the Nigeria Police Act 2020, which prohibits unprofessional conduct or sharing official content while in uniform or on duty.

“Discipline remains the foundation of effective policing. The Command will not tolerate any form of misconduct,” CP Lawal cautioned.

The newly deployed constables, according to the Police Commissioner, are expected to support community-based policing initiatives across the state. He directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to mentor the new officers and ensure they adapt quickly to the ethical and operational standards of the Force.

CP Lawal reaffirmed the Ondo State Police Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace and order in line with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
