OSOPADEC Reaffirms Development Focus as ODHA Committee Conducts Oversight Visit

Akure 8th November, 2025

The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has restated its commitment to inclusive growth and transparency following an oversight visit by the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on OSOPADEC.

During the committee’s visit, led by Hon. (Primate) Toyin Allen, the Chairman of OSOPADEC, Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, described the engagement as a vital mechanism for promoting accountability and strengthening the Commission’s development mandate.

Poroye commended the lawmakers for their diligence in monitoring the agency’s activities, noting that such visits foster openness and ensure that public resources are efficiently utilized.

“We appreciate the committee’s commitment to ensuring good governance. Your visit has given us another opportunity to present what we’ve achieved and the challenges we are addressing,” Poroye said.

He reaffirmed OSOPADEC’s focus on people-centered development, staff welfare, and impactful projects that uplift communities within the oil-producing areas of the state.

Hon. (Primate) Toyin Allen explained that the oversight exercise was part of the Assembly’s statutory responsibility to review budget implementation and inspect key infrastructure projects, including the Ugbonla–Erunna Road, Aboto–Atijere Road, Sabomi–Igbotu Link Road, walkways, and solar-powered streetlights.

Allen urged the Commission to sustain its pace of work and deliver more on its mandate before the close of the 2025 fiscal year.

Other top officials present during the visit included the Executive Director, Finance, Mallam Mallon Ogbaro; Secretary to the Commission, Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole; Director of Administration and Supplies, Apostle Sola Orisamoluwa; and other management staff.
