TRUMP WAR THREATS: THE GENUINE OR FALSE VIDEO, ACTION REQUIRED BY NIGERIA GOVERNMENT

By Exponent Editorial Board. 10th November, 2025

The Builders and the Destroyers

There are two categories of people in any civilized or uncivilized society, whether developed or underdeveloped: the Builders and the Destroyers. Both have a common trait — sleeplessness whenever a crisis looms or happens. While the Builders struggle to avert problems, which may cause them sleeplessness, the Destroyers scramble to ensure they destroy the existing peace in that society.

Therefore, they work on their strategies day and night in order to manifest their plans. To avert negativity between the two elements that may erode the existing peace and tranquility in the land, the peacemaker may see the opportunity as a way to come in for the purpose of assisting.

The Viral Trump War Threat Video

In line with this, a claimed video showing American soldiers as directed by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has surfaced on social media. Whether genuine or falsely claimed, what matters is that action is required by the Nigerian government to defend the country and its citizens against any external aggression that may cause more damage to the already fragile peace in the land — all in the name of assisting to wipe out insurgency against Christian and Muslim worshipers.

Social Media Panic and Public Reaction

From social media gatherings around Trump’s threat-posted video of landed soldiers on the shore of Nigeria, various comments revealed that the post recorded traction and sparked panic.

The post read:

“The footage, posted on November 6 by an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as Spaghetti Mafia (@italian_Spencer), claimed that the US Army had landed in Bonny Island, Rivers State. The post caption read: ‘Breaking News: US Army lands in Bonny Island, Rivers State!! Donald Trump wasn’t playing around.’”

Although this post could not but cause panic among the people — because war does not come with soft hands — one only knows the beginning; the end of any crisis, if it eventually happens, may not be determined.

The post quickly gained traction, amassing thousands of views and comments, sparking panic among Nigerians who believed the US military had landed in the country.

Presidency’s Response and Clarification

Meanwhile, the Presidency has refuted the claims as false to give hope and confidence to the citizens.

Presidency Dismisses the Video as False
In a swift response, the Nigerian Presidency debunked the viral claim, describing the video as false and misleading. D.O. Olusegun, the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, replied directly under the viral post, stating:

“This is false.”

The Biblical Perspective: The Call for Peace

In the Biblical injunction of our Lord Jesus’ message — the Sermon on the Mount titled The Mount of Beatitudes — Matthew 5:9 reads:

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (King James Version)

This shows that when a crisis is looming like this, powerful nations will be poised to have their footsteps in the land where they foresee problems. Life is very precious, particularly to the leadership of advanced countries like the US, and that is why they consider intervention in countries that face external threats — unlike underdeveloped countries that play politics with everything.

The Nigerian Challenge and the Way Forward

To be honest, the war against insurgency has spanned too long to be defeated in our country. Many lives have been wasted and families destroyed. Yet our soldiers, who have been receiving trophies for their gallant performance in international peacekeeping, are sometimes hindered by some high powers within the political landscape of the country from demonstrating their professionalism in flushing out these criminal elements among us.

Similarly, the security personnel in the country are well trained and skillful enough to handle the challenge of insurgency if they are given the political will to operate, as our gallant soldiers have never fought and been defeated by the adversaries within the country.

Conclusion: Safeguarding Nigeria’s Sovereignty

The external assistance we think the US may provide, if not critically considered with inward reflection, may jeopardize the fragile peace and the economy that is just beginning to recover under this democratic administration.

The Nigerian government needs powerful technology for its soldiers to combat the scourge — no doubt about that — but not to surrender its sovereignty to any international country, because where two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers.
