26th November, 2025

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday strengthened the administrative machinery of his government with the swearing-in of a new set of Special Advisers, the Director-General of the Performance and Projects Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), and the inauguration of the Ondo State Law Commission.

The ceremony, held at the Cocoa Conference Centre of the Governor’s Office in Akure, forms part of the administration’s continued efforts to deepen efficient governance in line with the “OUR EASE” policy direction.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the appointments represent a renewed pledge to deliver people-oriented governance anchored on integrity, service and accountability. He described the occasion as a testament to his administration’s dedication to strengthening public institutions for optimal service delivery.

“These appointments are not rewards of proximity to power but outcomes of rigorous, merit-based evaluation,” he said, stressing that both returning and newly appointed advisers were chosen to reinforce strategic policy coordination across government.

The governor administered the oath of office on the Special Advisers:
Hon. Olugbenga Omole (Transport); Comrade Gani Mohammed (Special Duties and Strategy); Allen Sowore (Communication and Strategy); Dr. Summy Smart Francis (Entrepreneurship & Innovation); Dr. Tunji Rhema (Environment); Mrs. Kikelomo Ikuomola (Public Affairs & Intergovernmental Relations); Engr. Wale Aladenusi (Marine & Blue Economy); Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (Legislative & Party Affairs); and Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa (Local Government Affairs).

He charged them to uphold diligence, humility and responsibility in the discharge of their duties, reminding them that “public office is a sacred duty” that must translate into measurable results.

On the newly appointed Director-General of the PPIMU, the governor underscored the office’s crucial role in standardised project monitoring, fiscal prudence and strict adherence to timelines and quality benchmarks across government projects.

Similarly, Governor Aiyedatiwa inaugurated the Ondo State Law Commission, naming Mr. Femi Okunjemiruwa Esq. as Chairman, with Olufemi Mayor Omosua Esq., Raymond Olaleye Ogunmoyero Esq., Oladehingbe Sunday Esq., and Tope Olajube Esq. as members. He tasked the Commission with modernising the State’s legal framework to meet contemporary needs.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to efficiency, equity and empowerment, the governor highlighted recent strides in agriculture, education, urban renewal, economic expansion and security, noting that these efforts continue to position Ondo State as an emerging hub for investment and industrial growth.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Special Adviser on Transport, Hon. Olugbenga Omole, expressed appreciation to the governor and pledged unwavering loyalty, promising impactful service that would benefit residents across all parts of the State.

The event was attended by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji; Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip; members of the judiciary, legislators, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries.
