Ondo Amotekun parades 12 suspected criminals

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, has paraded 12 suspected criminals arrested across the state during recent security operations.

Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this at the Amotekun headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, noting that the arrests were made through the ongoing Operation Le Won Jade border patrol and intensified 24/7 ember-month operations.

“We are parading 12 suspects arrested in various parts of the state. Under breaking of law and order, we have nine; one was apprehended for anti-grazing-related farmers’ clash, and two suspects were arrested for kidnapping,” Adeleye said.

According to him, the kidnapping suspects include 22-year-old Usman, arrested at the scene of a kidnap incident along Ijoka Road, Akure, and 25-year-old Abdullahi, apprehended at Ago Aduloju Camp, Ugbe, in Akoko.

On armed robbery and conspiracy, the corps arrested two suspects Odule and Temidayo, both aged 19 in Okitipupa.

In an anti-grazing operation, a 30-year-old man, Mohammed, was arrested in Ala, Akure North Local Government Area.

Others paraded for conspiracy and burglary include John (31), Ibrahim (22), Solomon (23), Felix (20), Ude David (18), Peter (25), and Shuaibu (18), all arrested in Akure North.

Adeleye noted a significant drop in kidnapping-related arrests in the past week, describing it as a welcome development.

He appreciated members of the public for providing timely information and commended other security agencies for their continued collaboration to keep the state safe.
