Men of substance are not dressed in gold, it is when you scratch off their muddy dressing that you discover the precious gold underneath. Charles De-Gaulle once said, “nothing great will ever be achieved without great men and women, are great if they are determined to be great.”

The above words can be used to describe Hon. Ade Adeogun, who was once a member, Federal House of Representatives, representing the good people of Akoko South West and South East federal constituency in the 9th National Assembly, under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Ade Adeogun is a grassroot politician and a man of the people who always puts the interests of his people first. The overriding purpose of politics and power in his mind is to incrementally elevate the society to higher levels of development and as well lift the people out of poverty.

In the 9th National Assembly, Hon Adeogun made his own contributions to public discourse and policies as well as programmes of the political party that he belongs to, and always shows that he is someone who commits time and energy to deep thinking.

In the political history of Nigeria and Ondo State, Hon. Adeogun has proven himself to be one of those who has pursued the tireless efforts of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in politics. He believes and sees politics as a call to serve and not to be served.

With discomfort and no dividends of democracy been enjoyed by the people of Ondo North Senatorial District, Hon. Adeogun said, if he can be given the opportunity to represent Ondo North Senatorial District in the national assembly, his first goal would be to seek avenues of attracting capital to support businesses in the Senatorial District such that the district would become a cluster of small businesses and centre of strategic innovation.

Hon. Adeogun has the opinion that Ondo North Senatorial District is one of the least developed in Nigeria, and it is one of the few senatorial districta that has suffered persistent economic and infrastructure neglect.

All the federal roads in the area including the trunk ‘A’ South West, -Okene, Kaba, Lokoja, Arigidi- Ikaram to Ayere- Abuja roads are in state of disrepair. Each budget year comes and goes without any significant federal government investment in the senatorial district. It often appears as if the senatorial district does not get any share of the federal commonwealth.

Ondo North Senatorial District is the only senatorial district that does not have a single private enterprise that could employ up to fifty people. It is obvious that the district is poor even in representation. Our people are ravaged by poverty, while our youths are perpetually angry from the frustration of facing a bleak future. So, if elected, his first priority is to give the Ondo North Senatorial District people a voice and work in synergy with other people in government to ensure that the people from the district begin to feel the impact of the government.

Hon. Adeogun promised to attract investments into the economy of the district through the promotion of small businesses in the area of agriculture, entertainment, tourism and innovation.

During his term in the 9th national Assembly, Hon. Adeogun touched the lives of his people positively by bringing them the dividends of democracy. His performance raised many questions in the minds of his people.

His four years in the federal house of representatives, between 2019-2023, witnessed a lot of achievements, which includes; Construction of road from Oka-Odo Junction to St. Patrick’s college, Iwaro Oka, construction
of major bridge at Owake, building a community hall at Oka Odo, support for electrification of new layout at Ayepe,Iwaro-Oka,

Apart from all these, he sponsored five bills and was a very visible member of the National Assembly.

The message Hon. Ade Adeogun is sending to the people of Ondo North Senatorial District is clear and he is not ready to change it. His interest is simply to raise hope that has been dashed by bad leadership. A plan is in the offing to create an economic platform that will benefit all the electorates and the society by giving directions to our people who have been badly plundered. Against all odds, he will continue to preach the possibility of Ondo North Senatorial District dreams. It doesn’t matter what pessimists may think or say. He is positively encouraged that our people will see better days if they faint not.
