The Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State,  has appealed to the people of the state to continue to support and show understanding towards the administration of His Excellency, Hon. Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the government steadily consolidates its policies and programmes.
The Director made this appeal on Monday while speaking on a current affairs programme on national Radio gin Akure, where stakeholders assessed Ondo State’s journey as it marks 50 years since its creation.
Ondo State was created on February 3, 1976, under the administration of the late General Murtala Mohammed, before Ekiti State was carved out in 1996. Reflecting on the state’s development over the decades, the. APC Chieftain acknowledged the progress recorded under successive administrations and described the golden jubilee as a moment worthy of gratitude and celebration.
Speaking on the present administration, the Director noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa assumed leadership under extraordinary circumstances and has since focused on ensuring stability, continuity, and effective governance. According to him, the governor has demonstrated commitment to sustaining existing projects while laying the foundation for new initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
He urged residents to assess the administration within the context of its transition period, adding that governance is a continuous process that requires patience, cooperation, and collective responsibility.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa stepped into office at a critical moment in the history of our state, and since then, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that government remains stable and responsive to the needs of the people. What is important now is continuity, unity, and the gradual strengthening of institutions for long-term development,” he said.
Responding to comparisons with other states marking similar anniversaries, The Director emphasized that each state operates within its own unique context and developmental framework. He stressed that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration remains focused on delivering people-oriented projects and policies in line with available resources and priorities.
He further explained that the administration is committed to infrastructure development, social welfare, economic empowerment, and good governance, adding that many initiatives are ongoing and will become more visible with time.
While interacting with callers during the programme, the Director appreciated the feedback and concerns expressed by members of the public, describing them as signs of active civic engagement. He reassured residents that the APC-led government remains open to constructive criticism and is determined to raise the bar of governance in Ondo State.
In his closing remarks, the APC Chieftain reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and appealed to the people of Ondo State to remain hopeful and united as the state celebrates its 50th anniversary and looks forward to a more prosperous future.
