OSOPADEC Completes Riverine Landing Walkway in Two Weeks

The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has recorded an early milestone in its riverine infrastructure drive with the completion of a concrete landing walkway at Obe-Rewoye Community in Ilaje Local Government Area.
The project, completed in just two weeks, is one of eighteen concrete landing walkways awarded in December 2025 across Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas. The newly completed facility is now ready for public use.
Speaking through the development, the Executive Chairman of OSOPADEC, Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, described the achievement as a reflection of the Commission’s renewed commitment to timely project execution and grassroots development.
For years, residents of the riverine community struggled with unsafe access to boats, especially during periods of adverse weather. The new concrete landing walkway now provides safe, durable and reliable access for traders, fishermen, school children and other daily waterway users, significantly reducing risks associated with water transportation.
Community members have welcomed the project, noting that it restores dignity, improves safety and enhances economic and social activities along the waterfront.
The early completion of the project underscores OSOPADEC’s resolve to ensure value for money and deliver visible, people-focused infrastructure within its mandate areas. It also signals a shift toward faster project delivery and measurable impact in oil-producing communities.
As construction continues on other landing walkways across Ilaje and Ese-Odo, Prince Poroye has reaffirmed the Commission’s determination to sustain the momentum and consistently translate policy commitments into life-changing infrastructure at the grassroots level.
