The Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, has joined dignitaries from Ondo State and beyond to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mount Shiloh Zion Assembly in Sapele, Delta State.

The golden jubilee celebration, held on Sunday, was organised under the leadership of the church’s General Overseer and OSOPADEC Board member, Primate (Dr.) Ola Judah, the Ajibokun Soro 2 (Oba Osumare), with the theme, “The Faithful God.”

The event attracted traditional rulers, spiritual leaders, government officials, members of the Ilaje community and other well-wishers, and featured worship, thanksgiving, inspiring messages and prayers for the continued growth of the church.

Speaking at the ceremony, Poroye congratulated the church on attaining the 50-year milestone, describing the anniversary as evidence of God’s faithfulness and the enduring impact of its ministry.

He also commended Primate Judah for his dedication to the work of God and his commitment to his responsibilities as a member of the OSOPADEC Board.

“The entire leadership of Ondo State, especially the Ilaje nation, congratulates this church today. All of us that are present here today, let our hands be seen in the church. Men should be alive to spiritual responsibility,” Poroye said.

The OSOPADEC chairman urged members of the church to remain committed to their faith, noting that political and material positions should not be regarded as the ultimate measure of success.

“Let us be committed to the things of God. Position does not make anybody rich; only God does. Partner with God because there is nothing that you do with God that amounts to nothing,” he added.

Poroye also encouraged greater participation in church activities, particularly among young men and women, stressing the need for the younger generation to take active roles in sustaining the Christian faith.

Earlier, Primate Judah appreciated the OSOPADEC leadership for its presence at the anniversary, describing the Commission’s participation as a demonstration of inclusiveness and its commitment to engaging in activities that affect people within its mandate areas.

The celebration also offered members of the church, guests and the wider Ilaje community an opportunity to reflect on the assembly’s five-decade journey and the need to preserve its spiritual legacy for future generations.

Among those who attended were OSOPADEC Board members, including Hon. Bayo Anifowose, Hon. Steven Tibiebi Lawrence and Princess Ronke Benjamin Efurubu, as well as other senior management staff of the Commission.
