APC ONDO TARGETS ONE MILLION VOTES FOR TINUBU, OTHER PARTY CANDIDATES
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified efforts to secure at least one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates in the forthcoming elections, citing the achievements of the Federal and Ondo State governments as its major campaign tools.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, disclosed this while speaking with journalists after receiving a Distinguished Award from Southwest Heralds Magazine.
Babatunde said the party was working hard to consolidate its political strength across the state, expressing confidence that the performance of President Tinubu and Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa would help it achieve the target.
He explained that the party’s campaign strategy would focus on communicating government achievements and fulfilling promises made to the electorate rather than relying solely on political rhetoric.
According to him, the ongoing construction of the expressway under the Federal Government is one of the major projects the APC intends to showcase during its campaign.
He described the road project as a legacy initiative, noting that its concrete construction demonstrated the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
Babatunde also highlighted the achievements of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, particularly in infrastructure, economic activities, conditional cash transfers and the timely payment of gratuities to senior citizens in the state.
He said these initiatives would form important components of the party’s campaign as it seeks to convince voters to support APC candidates from the presidential level to the National Assembly and state legislature.
The APC chairman stressed that the party’s approach to campaigning was based on accountability, adding that political parties must deliver on their promises to the electorate to earn continued public trust.
“After they have given us their votes, it is important that we get those things done. We must fulfil the promises we have made so that, by the time we return to ask for another vote, we can tell them that these are the things they demanded and that we have done them,” he said.
On concerns arising from the party’s recent congresses and primaries, Babatunde acknowledged that some members had expressed grievances but said the leadership had initiated reconciliation efforts to address the disagreements.
He disclosed that the party had established a reconciliation committee in line with its tradition of resolving internal disputes, adding that the State Working Committee was also actively involved in the process.
According to him, the reconciliation efforts are yielding positive results as the party continues to reach out to aggrieved members to ensure unity ahead of the elections.
Babatunde maintained that resolving internal differences remained crucial to the party’s electoral success, expressing optimism that the ongoing engagements would strengthen its ranks.
Speaking on the award, the APC chairman expressed delight at the recognition, congratulating the publisher of Southwest Heralds Magazine and commending the guest speaker for his presentation on the importance of information and its influence on society.
He described the honour as significant, noting that the credibility and integrity of the magazine made the recognition particularly meaningful to him.
Babatunde reiterated that the achievements of President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Aiyedatiwa’s programmes would serve as the foundation of the party’s campaign as it works towards securing one million votes in Ondo State.
CAC Grammar School Dr Olobayo
In another development, the Principal of CAC Grammar School, Akure, Dr. Olobayo Theophilus, has disclosed that the school has introduced e-learning facilities in English Language and Mathematics to improve students’ academic performance and raise educational standards.

Dr. Olobayo, who spoke on the sidelines of an award ceremony organised by Southwest Heralds Magazine, expressed appreciation to the organisers for recognising his contributions to the development of education in Ondo State.
He said he was particularly delighted to be the only principal among the award recipients, describing the recognition as an encouragement to do more for the school and the development of young people.
According to him, the award would motivate him to intensify efforts towards improving education and adding value to the lives of students across the state.
Speaking on measures adopted to improve academic performance at CAC Grammar School, the principal explained that the introduction of e-learning facilities in English Language and Mathematics had helped students understand difficult topics more effectively.
He said the initiative complements classroom teaching by allowing students to watch audio-visual presentations on topics they find difficult to understand.
“When students are taught theoretical concepts in their classrooms, we identify areas they find difficult and take them to the laboratory, where they watch audio-visual presentations on the topics being taught,” he explained.
Dr. Olobayo added that combining e-learning with conventional classroom instruction had helped improve students’ understanding and academic performance.
He also disclosed that the school had been participating in various academic competitions, with encouraging results recorded over the years.
The principal said the school recorded a 100 per cent success rate in English Language and Mathematics in the recently released examination results, while it achieved 99 per cent in the Senior Secondary School Two (SS2) examination.
He expressed optimism that the students would continue to improve academically, adding that the school remained committed to promoting educational development.
