Ondo Assembly Speaker, Olamide Oladiji Bags Parliamentarian Excellence Award
The Speaker of the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Adesanmi Oladiji, also known as Landmark, is set to receive the Parliamentarian Excellence Award from the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, Ondo State. The award ceremony will take place on December 22, 2024, at the OSDPC Multi-Purpose Event Center in Ijapo Estate, Akure, at 3 PM.
Hon. Oladiji holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, and a diploma in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He previously earned a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, in 1998, as well as a National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Unwana Afikpo, in Ebonyi State.
In addition to his political career, Hon. Oladiji is a successful philanthropist and businessman. He founded Landmark Polytechnic in Ayetoro/Itele, Ogun State, and the Landmark Group of Schools in Ikotun and Agodo Egbe, Lagos State. He also established Ladiji Petroleum, located in the Idimu area of Lagos State.
The award ceremony will feature a lecture-themed “Unintended Consequences of Oil Deregulation: The Impacts on Nigerians and Lessons for the Financial Sector.” The Honourable Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, will be the Chief Host, while Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will attend as the Special Guest of Honour.
Hon. Oladiji has served as the Vice Chairman of the State House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and is a member of the House Committees on Finance and Appropriations, Public Accounting, OSOPADEC, and Natural Resources. Additionally, he has competently held the position of Chairman of the House Committee on Government House Protocols.
He has also served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary and as Vice Chairman of both the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the House Committee on Water Resources. He has been an active member of the Assembly on the House Committee on Finance and Appropriations.
This Award of Excellence is to recognize and give him accolades for his unwavering contributions to education, business, and philanthropy, especially in the political sphere.
