Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the renowned General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has called for heightened prayer and caution amidst growing tensions in Nigeria, urging citizens to avoid military conflict and fires. Speaking during a sermon this morning, Adeboye emphasized the significance of protecting the land, especially in light of recent border attacks that have affected communities.

He urged farmers to refrain from burning bushes this year, warning that such actions could have severe consequences. “This is not a time for complacency. Please pray and take heed to the advice. I am speaking for the protection of lives,” he said.

Adeboye went on to discuss the importance of God’s covenant with His people, comparing it to a contract but with much more serious implications. “A covenant is binding and sacred. The penalty for breaking it is severe—death,” he warned, referencing biblical accounts of God’s promises to His people, especially in the context of faith and obedience. He cautioned against secret societies and the corrupting influence of false covenants, emphasizing that the covenant with God brings prosperity, protection, and divine favor.

He also shared personal testimonies of God’s miraculous provision and protection, reflecting on his own experiences of God’s faithfulness. “When you enter into a covenant with God, you can expect to see things that are beyond natural explanation,” he remarked, stressing that God’s covenant offers security that surpasses worldly understanding.

Adeboye’s message resonated with both local and international listeners, as he spoke about God’s promise of empowerment and His divine intervention, even in politically challenging environments. “When God is with you, no one can stand against you,” he declared, urging believers to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in God’s eternal covenant.
