
Governor Aiyedatiwa Reaffirms Commitment to Religious Harmony in Ondo State

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting religious harmony, unity, and inclusivity across the state. Speaking at the special Jum’at Service held at the Akure Central Mosque on Friday, the Governor expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for their unwavering support, highlighting the importance of peaceful coexistence among all religious groups in Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who is set for his official inauguration on Monday, emphasized that his government would prioritize policies that foster development, equity, and the welfare of all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliations.
According to the CPS, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan to Governor in a press release, that Aiyedatiwa also commended the Muslim community leadership for their contributions to societal growth and moral guidance.
“We will continue to promote religious harmony and inclusivity in governance. Our policies will focus on advancing the development of the state and ensuring that all citizens benefit equally,” said Governor Aiyedatiwa.
The Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede, prayed for the Governor’s success, urging him to lead with justice, fairness, and a focus on the welfare of the people. The Imam also acknowledged the Governor’s contributions to the state’s infrastructure, particularly in road development, and praised his support for the Muslim Welfare Board.

The event, which attracted key dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, and several traditional rulers, marked a significant moment in the lead-up to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration. Participants urged continued prayers for the success of the administration as it seeks to foster progress and unity within the state.
