The House of Representatives will convene for a crucial plenary session tomorrow, March 13, 2025, unveiling a robust agenda focused on national reforms, legislative updates, and the consideration of key bills aimed at driving the country’s development.

Among the notable highlights is the introduction of several high-profile bills, including amendments to the Criminal Code Act and Penal Code Act, as well as the establishment of new institutions such as the Federal University of Okigwe and the Federal College of Fisheries Technology and Marine Engineering. The session will also feature discussions on the Body-Worn Cameras by Law Enforcement Officers Bill, an initiative aimed at enhancing accountability in policing.

In addition to the presentation of bills, members will consider the Report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Petition by Comrade Igbini Odafe Emmanuel regarding unethical practices by Total Energies E&P Nigeria Limited. A range of other key bills are also scheduled for their third reading, including the National Agency for Technology Incubation Bill and several tax-related reforms.

Key Issues to be Addressed in Tomorrow’s Session:

Introduction of landmark bills aimed at modernizing Nigeria’s healthcare, education, and technological sectors.

Progress on tax reform with critical bills concerning Nigeria’s tax collection and revenue management systems.

Continued oversight with the review of an important petition against Total Energies regarding alleged unethical practices.

The session underscores the House’s commitment to refining Nigeria’s governance framework and advancing the economic well-being of its citizens.

For more updates, stay tuned as the House continues its efforts toward a more prosperous Nigeria.

Signed:
