Insecurity: Enough is Enough – NANS
By Exponent News, Akure, 27th March 2025
The Association of Nigerian Students (NAN), Ondo State chapter, has blocked the Oba Adesida Road along the “A” Division in Akure to protest against the insecurity ravaging the state. Most of the students who gathered for the protest were from Owo Polytechnic, chanting “Enough is enough” and demanding that the government empower the police with sophisticated gadgets to combat the menace. The students lamented the government’s insensitivity toward addressing the situation, as their colleagues were being kidnapped at will, and in most cases, the kidnappers killed their victims even after receiving ransom payments.
As of the time of filing this report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Willfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, and his men were on the ground to bring the situation under control. Although the protest was peaceful, it disrupted the flow of traffic.
