Otunba Tayo Adu has expressed heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming support received during a public lecture and awards event  on theme: Educational Crisis in Nigeria:  JAMB, WAEC, /NECO , a case study,  held as part of an anniversary celebration in Akure. Speaking at the event, Adu emphasized the critical role such gatherings play in shaping academic and leadership values in Nigeria.

Highlighting the importance of standardized entrance models for tertiary institutions, Adu noted that the Continuous Professional Test (CPT) model will help harmonize entry qualifications across examination bodies in the country.

“This anniversary edition lecture will play a major role in shaping the entrance model and qualification of our tertiary institutions,” he stated, adding that the initiative aims to ensure examination bodies get it right before integrating into the CPT model.

The event also celebrated distinguished individuals under the banner of Southwest Heralds Magazine Celebrated Icons, recognized for their outstanding achievements and integrity in various professional fields.

Adu used the platform to express deep appreciation to notable personalities who graced the occasion. He commended the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Hon. Locky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa , represented by Mr. Kenneth Odushola, , Director General and CEO of the OSRC Group. He also acknowledged the presence of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Olaide Adelami.

Special recognition was given to Hon. Ogunsua Gboyega  for his support and Professor Lillian Salami, immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin; Hon. Dipo Ajibola, Chairman of Ifedore Local Government; Hon. Abiola Ijimakinwa, Vice-Chairman of the same council; and Chief Bunmi Alade, who served as Chairman of the occasion.

“I sincerely appreciate everyone who has been part of our successful journey thus far,” Adu said. He extended gratitude to the Southwest Heralds media team and the entire press corps for their unwavering support, as well as to traditional leader Iralepo of Isikan

Although the event chairman was unavoidably absent, Adu thanked Chief Bunmi Alade for standing in and for his consistent support of media initiatives.

He concluded with a warm thank you to his family and everyone who contributed to the success of the event, saying, “To my ever supportive family, I say thank you. Thank you to everybody.”
