Comrade (Mrs.) Yinka Ogunleye has been elected Chairperson of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) Alumni Association, Akure Chapter, following a peaceful, free, and fair electoral process held in the Ondo State capital.

The election took place at the Engineer Adedeji Philip Engineering House, Akure, and saw all candidates emerge unopposed after key contenders stepped down shortly before the commencement of voting.

Other elected officers include:

Engr. Komolafe Bankole – Vice Chairman

Prince Odunayo Ogunlade – Secretary

Agbadola Monisola – Assistant General Secretary

Owolabi Bunmi Johnson – Treasurer

Princess Kemi-Bello – Welfare Director

John Adeyemi-Ologun – Public Relations Officer (PRO)

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Ogunleye expressed heartfelt gratitude to members of the alumni chapter for entrusting her with the leadership role. She also applauded the outgoing executives for their dedication and selfless service.

“I am deeply honoured by the trust you have placed in me. I will work closely with my fellow officers to provide focused and inclusive leadership,” Ogunleye said. “My vision is to build a stronger, more vibrant, and better-connected alumni community. I will promote a sense of belonging, foster networking opportunities, and support initiatives that uplift both our Alma Mater and the alumni body.”

Outgoing Chairman, Engr. Beremoye Adeoye, congratulated the new leadership, describing Ogunleye’s emergence as a well-deserved milestone in recognition of her long-standing contributions to the chapter.

“Your dedication to the growth of the RUGIPO Alumni Akure Chapter is unquestionable. This elevation is long overdue. Lead with humility, integrity, and purpose. I am confident in your ability to take this chapter to greater heights,” Adeoye stated.

With the new leadership in place, members of the Akure Chapter look forward to a new era of unity, revitalised engagement, and progressive collaboration within the RUGIPO Alumni network.
