
NAWOJ RETURNS HER EXCOS UNOPPOSED

The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State Wing, has returned all their former executives to office unopposed. The association is under the leadership of Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, the Chairperson of Ondo NAWOJ. gave thank to her members for supporting them in office.
In her inaugural speech, she expressed her appreciation to all members of the Union for their support as she concluded the tenure of the former Chairperson of the Union, Doris Obiageli.
In her speech, Gbadamosi said, “I am proud of what we’ve achieved so far in the last two years in advocating for the rights of women journalists, empowering women, supporting widows, vulnerable members of our society, and advocating for the rights of children who are victims of gender-based violence, child abuse, and other related cases.”
The Chairperson, who also appreciated her executives, said her EXCO members are the best any leader can ever have. She commended their zeal and commitment in the last dispensation. She urged them to do more and strive harder in order to continue making a difference in the lives of their members. She appealed to them to be more united and maintain harmony without any interference.
In another development, the Chairman of the NUJ, Ondo State Council, Prince Leke Adegbite, commended the efforts of the NAWOJ leadership for solidifying the union to a great extent. He encouraged them to do more for their members and continue to fight for the rights of widows and other vulnerable children in the society, as they have been doing. He encouraged them to amplify the voices of women and support their growth and development in this new dispensation.
Similarly, the Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, also commended the leadership of NAWOJ for the good activities carried out in supporting the women of the association and other women and children within the society. He explained that he would continue to support the activities of the Union as long as he remains in his position as CPS.
