FUTA to Honour ODSUBEB Chairman, Olabimtan, with Excellence Award in Education

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), is set to bestow its prestigious Award of Excellence in Public Education Administration on the Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (ODSUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan.
The award, which will be presented this Thursday at the university’s main auditorium, is part of a special recognition ceremony honoring distinguished Nigerians who have made significant contributions to societal development.
According to a statement by the university, Olabimtan is being recognized for his “outstanding contributions to the development of public education, especially at the basic education level,” in Ondo State.
A seasoned educationist and respected public servant, Olabimtan began his career as a classroom teacher and rose through the ranks to become a principal, education administrator, and later, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly. His journey in public service also includes serving as Executive Chairman of the State’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), and as a Federal Commissioner at the Federal Civil Service Commission in Abuja, representing Ondo, Ekiti, and Edo states.
Olabimtan, a native of Supare-Akoko in Ondo State, is widely regarded as a grassroots leader who has used his various positions to impact lives and uplift communities, particularly in the Northern Senatorial District of the state.
Under his leadership, ODSUBEB has witnessed notable strides in improving the state’s basic education sector. He credits the success to the unwavering support and commitment of the State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The event is expected to attract dignitaries from across political, academic, and professional circles.
